We warmly welcome you to an exciting and rewarding education. The focus of modern trauma treatment has shifted from "what's wrong with you" to the consequences of what happened to you from conception and throughout life, including complex PTSD. The focus is on empowering people to find their way out of the trauma biography and back to themselves. The IoPT theory is groundbreaking and the intentional method of selfencounters, meeting oneself from the inside out, is clarifying and healing.
Trauma work is work that concerns us all.
The goal of the IoPT Advanced Training is to provide a thorough insight into and understanding of IoPT trauma theory with the Intention Method. You will have the opportunity to learn how trauma affects the development and growth of both the body and the mind.
- Prevention, treatment and the way out of traumatic stresses, such as relationship stresses, inside and outside the family, sexual abuse, violence and seemingly minor incidents that over time are stressful and lead to traumatization.

Marta Thorsheim is academically responsible for the Institute and teaches several modules in the Advanced Training, in addition to experienced IoPT teachers.
Theory and methodology
The study program is based on Prof. Franz Ruppert's theoretical and practical framework within IoPT - Identity Oriented Psychotrauma Theory with the Integration Method. Literature list will be sent in good time before start-up. The teaching is in Norwegian.
Based on established trauma theories and his own research, as well as through many therapeutic processes with women and men in many countries, both individually and in groups, Prof. Franz Ruppert has developed the theoretical framework of Identity-Oriented Psychotrauma Theory. This framework is based on several theoretical cornerstones and one practical method: Trauma theory, the human psyche, identity, love, sexuality, victim-offender dynamics and the Intention Method. Both subject and method are under constant development, and the Institute works closely with Dr. Ruppert to keep abreast of the latest developments in IoPT.
The main topics for the education
The modules consist of teaching, reflection and discussion of theory as well as practical work according to the participants' intentions. Each participant is given the opportunity for their own therapy through being a resonance person and their own self-encounters, when they have the intention to do so. Own self-encounters can be expected in most modules. Marta Thorsheim is responsible for our Advanced Training for Trauma Therapist IoPT. From module seven onwards, everyone has the opportunity to practice the Intention Method under supervision.
