Symbiosis and autonomy

The book Symbiosis and Autonomy explores the depths of the human soul, what keeps it healthy, what makes it sick, and how this insight can be applied in effective psychotherapy.

FRANZ RUPPERT is a PhD in psychology and professor of psychology at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. In addition, he has his own practice as a psychotrauma therapist and holds seminars in many countries in and outside Europe. This is his fourth book to be translated into Norwegian. His project of developing multi-generational psychotraumatology started in 2002 and has resulted in seven books in German. His therapeutic method, Intention Constellations, has since become an independent trauma therapy method.

In short, the book is about the consequences. It also highlights what parents, therapists, and support systems can do.

In this book, Dr. Franz Ruppert provides a thorough account of what happens when a child's symbiotic needs for love, safety, being wanted, physical contact, and being seen, heard, and understood are disrupted or unmet, and explains why not all parents are able to meet these fundamental and vital needs for their children. He examines how this leads to the trauma of one's own identity and free will, and how the damage can be worked through via effective trauma therapy.

Dr. Franz Ruppert is a professor of psychology and teaches at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, in addition to being an internationally sought-after speaker and course instructor. His self-developed theory and practice of trauma therapy are gaining ground worldwide, and in Norway, many trauma therapists practice his theory and method.

One of them is Marta Thorsheim at the Institute for Trauma Therapy in Oslo. She is a psychotrauma therapist who teaches other therapists according to Dr. Franz Ruppert's theory and method in several countries, runs her own practice in Oslo, and works closely with Dr. Franz Ruppert.
